Know Thy Ingredients. ALL Life Depends On It.™
An excitotoxin is a highly addictive chemical that causes a brain cell to become overexcited and fire uncontrollably, leading to cell death. MSG (and other excitotoxins like aspartame) has the potential for inflicting damage to the brain and nervous system. These chemicals also cross the placental barrier, harming the brains of unborn children. These substances added to foods and beverages that can literally stimulate neurons to death, causing brain damage of varying degrees. It can be found hidden under 40 ingredients (see below) and these deadly ingredients are heavily laced in most packaged foods: monosodium glutamate (MSG), Manufactured Free glutamate (MFG), pea and soy isolates/concentrates/hydrolyzed, rice protein, anything protein, aspartame, cysteine, hydrolyzed protein, and
aspartic acid, just to name a few (40 ingredients below).
When a brain suffers the effects of low blood sugar, various brain systems begin to malfunction. We experience it as confusion, mental fatigue, fuzzy thinking, anxiety, thirst, etc. One of the systems that is affected is the system that protects the neurons from glutamate and aspartate. Both of these function as neurotransmitters. In a brain that is low on fuel, even “low” doses of excitotoxins can become toxic. This toxicity can manifest itself as anxiety or confusion and as episodes of anger. Since these chemicals are always toxic, there is no safe dose.
Glutamate impairs the entry of glucose in the brain. The larger the dose of glutamate, the greater the lowering of brain glucose will be. This means that food containing MSG in all its forms both lowers glucose levels in the brain AND causes more damage in the already low-glucose brain.
Some of the damage caused by excitotoxins:
• Exposure to excitotoxins in children sets them up for learning or emotional difficulties
• Those food additives damage the part of a child’s brain that controls hormones and lead to endocrine problems later
• Excitotoxins are endocrine disruptors
• Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, Lou Gehrig’s (neuro-degenerative diseases)
• Linked to obesity
• Artificial sweeteners in soft drinks increase incidences of brain tumors
• Excitotoxins aggravate neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s
• Excitotoxins are known to be triggers for migraine
The only reason for excitotoxins are used is to boost the sales of highly processed (non man-made) food by flavor “enhancers” to make otherwise dead and flavorless (non) food taste even addicting. Due to over processing, chemical baths and extraction methods, these over-processed man-made nutrient void inflammatory ingredients are found in even the new media IPO hyped “plant-based” frankenmeats, touting to be protein’s future. You will also find these deadly neurotoxic ingredients in packaged foods like sauces, soups, crackers (yes, Goldfish), breads, gravy mixes and especially frozen and low fat prepared (man-made non) foods that would never sell for lack of flavor if they weren’t artificially enhanced.
Think of it this way. Your body is a living organic bio-system, perfectly designed by nature, to communicate with the nutrients that come from our soil, plants and sun. In fact, all protein comes from plants. In nature, a pea is a whole pea, which only and always produces a whole protein amino acid, L-glutamate. This L-glutamate is also an amino acid your body manufactures. When you intake a whole pea, body say, namaste, I recognize you and I know just where you are needed. But remove one part of this vital amino acid chain and your body becomes dazed and confused. When you take a pea or other broken protein, which has undergone a chemical extraction process, that broken protein has now become “isolated,” or unstable freed of its whole chain amino acid protein bonds. This produces a highly toxic D-glutamate (think of it as a destabilized protein) which is ONLY and ALWAYS a single part of glutamic acid, that literally becomes an alien invader, which puts the body, brain
and nervous system in a code red high alert status.
The Deadly Taste That Kills
With regular MSG/MFG consumption, there is also an extremely high incidence of heart attack, seizures, headaches, strokes, arteriosclerosis, insomnia, obesity, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, brain injury, endocrine disruption, obesity and developmental brain disorders are intimately related to excitotoxins. Yet we continue to add literally tons of them to our food and spend hundreds of millions in celeb endorsements and crafty marketing campaigns telling us they are the answer and solution to the very real issues we face together around animal agriculture. Our humanity, especially the United States, has become the largest human bio-chemical experimental laboratory in history, that leading endocrinologists warn threaten our entire species existence in less than two decades.
Whether you’re talking about the brain toxicity of food additives, diabetes related to processed foods, obesity, the increased risk of developing addictions to sugary foods, or the chronic degenerative diseases associated with excitotoxic ingredients, GMOs, glyphosate and trans fats lurking in our food system, the conclusion is the same: Eat organic real whole foods to protect you and your loved ones health.
Our ignorance is no longer bliss. It’s deadly.
You may be surprised at over 40 hidden MSG excitotoxic ingredients:
*1 Glutamic acid found in unadulterated real whole food protein does not cause adverse reactions. To cause adverse reactions, the glutamic acid must have been processed /manufactured or come from protein that has been fermented.
*2 E numbers are use in Europe in place of food additive names.
The following work synergistically with the ingredient monosodium glutamate (MSG) to enhance flavor. If they are present for flavoring, so is MSG:
Disodium 5’-guanylate (E 627) / Disodium 5’-inosinate (E-631) / Disodium 5′-ribonucleotides (E 635)
